HISTORY

The County of Simcoe has been committed to community food security work over the past two decades. The Simcoe County Food and Agriculture Charter is a foundational document that was created in 2013 to support decision making for a food secure Simcoe County.

The Charter paved the way for community collaboration, municipal consultation and the development of the Framework.

Simcoe County has a history of partnerships and collaboration around community food security, which can be leveraged for future initiatives within the Simcoe County Food Council.
